CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR)- VISIT TO BETHESDA PRIMARY SCHOOL LEKKI LAGOS
The Bishop & Rooks team visited Bethesda school in Lekki on Tuesday 27th July 2021 as part of it’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) Initiatives. Bethesda is a school which provides free quality education through the assistance of partners and sponsors to orphans and vulnerable children within Lagos and Ogun State.
During the visit by a team of 20 leaders and associates from Bishop & Rooks’ office, the representatives who are professionals in the accounting, audit, tax, legal, customer service and administration divisions of the firm, took part in the various sessions to support the school’s “Project Be” program.
In the “ My Computer and Me” session, the students were made to experience some basic computer appreciation lessons in a fun and interactive way. The “Bookworm” session helped to promote a reading culture in the students through a “Read-a-thon” activity. The “Personal Values” session was aimed at helping the students to develop positive values and to make ethical decisions. The last session on “My Right as a Child” helped to enhance the students understanding of their civic rights.
The CSR programs are focused on the promotion of financial fluency and awareness to enhance the knowledge of future business leaders.
At the end of each of the activity, gift items were presented by each group head to encourage the participating students.
These activities not only encouraged constructive thinking and ideas amongst the students but was also very beneficial the Bishop & Rooks team who were intrigued by the zeal displayed by the students while participating.
